An Approach to Statistics

Scott has a presentation, The Scientist Game, which explores the methodology underlying the science of statistics. An interactive version is available, it can also be downloaded as a PowerPoint presentation.

Another document, Top Ten Lists - An Overview of Mathematical Statistics, provides an overview of mathematical statistics as might be taught to first year graduate students in statistics or biostatistics. It takes the form of a number of “Top Ten” lists which present the main 8-12 definitions and results in the relevant areas of mathematical statistics. In some cases, special note is made of areas of common confusion and/or areas of special application.
