Role of statistical
software:
A variety
of statistical operating characteristics should be considered in order to
ensure that the clinical trial design appropriately addresses the scientific,
clinical, and statistical issues.
Ethical
and efficiency concerns often lead to sequential monitoring, which
does not greatly affect which operating characteristics are to be
examined, but does affect the computation of those operating characteristics.
