Statistical inference at the end of a trial.
Upon completion of a clinical trial, we are interested in
making inference based on an observed test statistic (estimate of
treatment effect)
·Point
estimate of treatment effect (single best estimate)
·Interval estimate of treatment effect (provides
measure of precision of point estimate)
·Quantification of evidence for or against null hypothesis
·Binary
decision about truth or falsity of null and alternative hypotheses
