Marginal Summary Measures
Many
times, statistical hypotheses are stated in terms of summary
measures for univariate (marginal) distributions
•Means (arithmetic,
geometric, harmonic, …)
•Medians (or other
quantiles)
•Proportion exceeding
some threshold
•Odds of exceeding some
threshold
•Time averaged hazard
function (instantaneous risk)
