Biost 533: Theory of Linear Models (taught jointly with Stat 533)
Examines model structure; least squares estimation; Gauss-Markov theorem; central limit theorems for linear regression; weighted and generalized least squares; fixed and random effects; analysis of variance; blocking and stratification; and applications in experimental design. Prerequisite: STAT 421 or STAT 423; and STAT 513, BIOST 515, and a course in matrix algebra.
